The Department of Mission and Ministry advances the Catholic identity, Ignatian heritage, and Jesuit mission of America's oldest Catholic university. We also help ensure the practice and understanding of all faiths through a variety of events and services.
Over the past year, the Department of Mission and Ministry has:
- Expanded Magis Row housing for religious organizations
- Created an inter-religious floor in the Former Jesuit Residence
- Worked to increase transparency about off-campus housing for religious organizations
- Allowed CSJ vans to be subsidized for all service-based organizations
- Established a big-tent Catholic organization, the Catholic Student Fellowship
A few goals for the spring include:
- Working to establish a retreat geared exclusively towards sophomores
- Engaging club sports teams in efforts to secure CSJ vans for team service trips
- Advocating for the reduction of kosher and halal meal plan exemption requirements
